Ways you can diversify your business with KitStart

Diversifying your business means you’re expanding your company’s operations into new products, services, markets, or industries that are different from your current core business.

Diversifying a business can be done for a number of reasons, whether it’s to increase revenue, reduce risk, or capture new opportunities.  And with the uncertainty of the current economic climate, many businesses are searching  for ways to do this with their existing products and services.

At KitStart, our goal is to help small business entrepreneurs, like you, thrive with our digital tools, and you can use a KitStart Simple or KitStart Premium package to help you diversify your existing offering in different ways.

Making your business more discoverable

Social media is a pivotal tool at any stage of business, whether it’s facilitating outreach to new audiences, engaging with loyal customers, and bolstering brand growth. Nevertheless, the inclusion of a dedicated website can enhance your brand in several ways.

  1. Control: Unlike social media platforms that are prone to target zapping algorithms, once you establish your domain and website, it remains under your control, and it’s yours forever!
  2. Expansion: Leveraging Search Engine Optimization (SEO) capabilities integrated within your KitStart website significantly improves visibility on Google, rendering your brand more discoverable. This allows you to modify and expand your online presence without any of those sneaky algorithms.
  3. Information: Once you’ve got your domain, making sure your website is ready for the world couldn’t be easier with our flexible template options and content layouts. All of these have been developed with our users in mind to make your site look professional. And although your Instagram will be full of beautifully curated content, how is someone going to really engage with and understand your brand and your offering somewhere to find out more?
  4. Professionalism: This is another reason why it is vital to create your own website – to set you apart from the hobbyists, establish yourself as a trusted and professional brand, and show you are here to stay and you understand what your customers need.

Elevating your business with online bookings

In our 2022 micro business report, 20% of small business owners said an online booking system would be crucial to their future business success. Bookinglive also reported  that in a survey they took out, 69% of customers are more likely to book with a company that has an online booking system. They also found that if you don’t have an online booking system, 59% of customers will go to a competitor that does instead and 50% simply won’t book at all.

KitStart Bookings streamlines organisational aspects and facilitates round-the-clock sales. Integrated payment functionalities ensure swift transactions upon booking various services—be it classes, private events or appointments. Video links can also be added, allowing seamless online delivery, which can help enhance accessibility and reach.

Unlocking potential new revenue streams with an e-commerce store

For small businesses, establishing an online store stands as an alternative avenue for revenue diversification. KitStart Store seamlessly integrates into our suite of solutions, and can help you reduce the risk of relying on one source of income.

To bolster brand resilience and longevity, diversifying offerings through an online store presents a viable solution.

For example, your business is open Monday to Friday 8am – 2pm. But once you start setting up shop online, you become available 24/7, meaning you’re not limited to your physical opening hours, and you can provide convenience to your customers whatever time of the day.

It also means your global reach is expanded and you can tap in far and wide to an audience much greater than if you only had your physical shop front.

With KitStart Store you’ll have the ability to publish your store items on your socials, creating more brand awareness, and with various different payment options, you’ll be getting those orders in quick!

At KitStart we want to help you to challenge the status quo, and define a better future for small businesses.
